Jared Bonea

Jared grew up in the Bay Area of California where he got his start in climbing as a teenager reading alpine “trad” classics by Royal Robbins and Yvon Chouinard and cutting his teeth on the granite of the Sierra Nevada. Jared’s education in Linguistics and in German/French at the University of California led to study, work and guiding opportunities abroad and intensified his passion for foreign cultures and travel. To date he’s been fortunate to experience over 35 countries on 6 continents including a support position for the National Science Foundation at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. When not guiding for RMI, Jared is enamored with raising his baby girl with wife Chantal in Tacoma, Washington. In addition, Jared works professionally as a Firefighter/Paramedic for Graham Fire & Rescue in south Pierce County.
