Mt. Rainier: August 31st Summit!

The Four Day Summit Climbs August 28 - 31 led by RMI Guides Dave Hahn and Tyler Jones reached the summit of Mt. Rainier today! The teams reported they were climbing in their down parkas due to the cold temperatures this morning. They had good visibility with a broken cloud layer above at approximately 16,000’ and light winds throughout their summit climb. Both teams will descend to Camp Muir and return to Paradise later this afternoon.

Mt. Rainier: August 30th Summit!

The Four Day Summit Climbs August 27 - 30 led by RMI Guides Seth Waterfall and Paul Edgren reached the summit of Mt. Rainier today! The teams were approaching the crater rim just after 7:00 a.m. PT. They reported clear skies above 7,500’ with light winds. The teams will spend some time on top before starting their descent back to Camp Muir. They will return to Paradise later this afternoon.

Our Four Day Summit Climb Teams led by Tyler Jones and Leon Davis reached the summit of Mt. Rainier today. According to RMI Guide Tyler Jones: “The weather is warm, we are wearing two light layers, winds are calm, and it’s sunny and beautiful.” The teams are doing well and have started their descent back to Camp Muir.

The Four Day Summit Climbs led by Geoff Schellens, Brent Okita, and Gabriel Barral reached Columbia Crest today at 7:09 am. The teams reported light winds (10-20mph) and blue skies. They began making their descent to Camp Muir at 8 o’clock.

Our Four Day Summit Climb Teams led by Casey Grom and Billy Nugent stood on the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. It was breezy cold morning but clear. All nine members of Casey’s team made it to the summit. Both teams are doing well and have started their descent back to Camp Muir.

North Cascades - Mt. Shuksan Team Summit!

Mt. Rainier: August 24th Update

The Mt. Rainier Four Day Summit Climbs led by Paul Edgren and Pete Van Deventer radioed from the summit at 7:20 a.m. They crested the summit just before 7 a.m. with clear blue skies and calm winds in the crater. It’s a gorgeous day on Mt. Rainier! After spending some time enjoying the magnificent views, the teams will begin their descent back to Paradise.
Seth Waterfall and the Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons team checked in from Camp Schurman. The entire team reached the summit yesterday. They spent almost the entire previous night battling a tough storm, but the team managed to overcome the challenge and enjoyed a beautiful climb of the Emmons Glacier. Today they will descend down the White River valley for the final leg of their trip.

Mt. Rainier: August 23rd Summit!

The Four Day Summit Climb August 20 - 23 led by RMI Guides Dave Hahn and Jake Beren reached the top of Mt. Rainier today! They experienced very high winds with a cloud cap on top of the mountain. The teams began their descent from the crater rim a little after 9:00 a.m. PT.
RMI Guide Seth Waterfall and the Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons will continue training today. Due to high winds and heavy rain last night the team will postpone their summit attempt until tomorrow morning.
