Mt. Rainier: June 20th Summit!

Both Four Day Summit Climb teams made it to the Summit of Mt. Rainier today. Lead guides Jason Thompson and Andres Marin reported beautiful weather with light winds of about 0 – 8mph and plenty of SUNSHNE. The teams were in light gloves and two clothing layers, as they climbed. They are now en route back to Camp Muir and we expect them back at RMI Basecamp in Ashford this afternoon. Today is the first day of summer and the longest day of the year…get out and enjoy!

Hi Jon!  Yes ... it’s your Mama.  I hope you are having an AMAZING journey.  Please be safe and smart, as I know you will.  I miss you so much and will breathe when you are back in Knoxville!  Love you so much!

Always in good hands with Jason Thompson !!!  He was my guide on the Alaska seminar in 2009 along with Tyler Jones and I had a really great time and felt safe with them !

Mt. Rainier: June 11th Update

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Andres Marin left Camp Muir (10,060') on an alpine start and traveled above Ingraham Flats reaching 11,500' before turning around due to unstable snow conditions. The team began their descent from Camp Muir shortly before 9 am. We look forward to meeting the group in Ashford this afternoon.

Mt. Rainier: June 4th Update

RMI Guide Andres Marin radioed from Camp Muir this morning. The Four Day Summit Climb teams were tucked safely in the bunks at Camp Muir after a windy night. The cold temperatures, new snow and wind prevented the groups from making a summit attempt this morning. At 8:30 a.m. they began their descent from Camp Muir to Paradise. They will return to Ashford in the early afternoon.
