Our ten-day comprehensive seminar serves as the perfect training experience prior to climbing Denali and other great peaks. It is a comprehensive introduction to mountaineering conducted in one of the most spectacular alpine settings in the world! RMI sets the standard in guiding excellence by operating this program at a 3 to 1 climber to guide ratio.

This school introduces a number of skills, from the simplest techniques of efficient mountain travel (rest-stepping and pressure breathing) through cramponing, roped travel, and ice axe arrest practices.

Our one-day introduction to crevasse rescue techniques focuses on preparing climbers for glacier travel. Highly experienced and talented guides facilitate your learning of the key skills needed for team- and self-rescue.

We will learn the essential skills for climbing bigger mountains while basing out of Camp Muir for five days. A summit attempt will be made during the seminar. This is a great trip for either experienced climbers or novices interested in developing their mountaineering skills.

The goal of this seminar is to build a solid mountaineering foundation for climbers while making a summit attempt on a classic Mt. Rainier route. This is the perfect trip for climbers looking to develop their mountaineering skills in pursuit of bigger peaks.

The Kautz route ascends a classic line on the south side of Rainier and is a great adventure for physically fit climbers ready for a more technical climb.

Throughout this seminar we will learn and practice various mountaineering skills oriented toward cold weather and high altitude expedition climbing. A summit attempt will be made at some time during the week if conditions are suitable.

This program teaches a wide variety of foundational skills such as tour planning, avalanche awareness, terrain evaluation, route selection, individual skiing techniques and group travel techniques.

This course is for those with previous ski touring experience who would like to gain safe access to mountaineering terrain on skis.

This is the program we recommend for first time climbers. These courses take place in Colorado's San Juan Mountains, home to some of the best ice climbing in the lower 48.

Our Intermediate Ice Seminar builds upon the skills learned in our Intro to Ice Climbing course.

1:1 guiding $350 a day.
$150 a day for each additional person.
