Wow,
July is here, and we are well into our summer climbing season. We
have been busy guiding on Rainier, McKinley, and around the world
and want to share news of our mountain adventures with you. It is an
exciting time here at RMI as we expand our climbing programs to
include Himalayan peaks such as Everest and Cho Oyu. A tempting
slate of mountain adventures awaits. Read on, and consider joining
us.

MOUNT RAINIER Here at home
on Rainier we experienced a tremendous amount of winter snow which
has contributed to excellent summer climbing conditions. While early
season snow cover allowed us to ascend the Ingraham glacier, we have
moved the standard route over to Disappointment Cleaver. A deep snow
pack and cool temperatures have kept all routes on Mount Rainier in
good condition. RMI teams have climbed on Liberty Ridge, Ptarmigan
Ridge, Tahoma Glacier, Furher’s Finger, Gibraltar Ledge, and Kautz
routes already this season. |

INTERNATIONAL The first half of 2006 has been busy
for RMI International with expeditions to Aconcagua, Mexico’s

MOUNT McKINLEY Ten of our
twelve Denali expeditions have been completed with nine of them
successful so far. Early season teams experienced colder than usual
temperatures; however, clear weather and good conditions have
allowed for successful ascents. We have already begun taking
reservations for the 2007 season on Mount McKinley. For information
on dates, guides, and pricing, click here or visit our website

CUSTOM CLIMBS If our international published trip
dates do not suit your needs, contact our office regarding a Custom
Climb. These programs allow you to choose the mountain, program
date, team members and RMI guides to make your adventure a truly
unique experience. |

RMI EVEREST CLIMB AND BASE CAMP TREK 2007
Join us in March of 2007 for an expedition to the North side of
Everest. This trip is only available to climbers with previous
expedition mountaineering and high altitude (over 20,000 feet)
experience. Our team, staffed by RMI guides who have previously
summited Everest, will have a one to two guide to climber ratio and
the best logistics and Sherpa staff available. We believe a high
guide ratio of experienced guides can significantly increase your
margin of safety and likelihood of success.
Reaching the summit of Mount Everest may not be one of your goals,
but if you would like to experience the Himalaya, join our Everest
Trek and see what the view is like from the shoulder of Everest at
Advanced Base Camp (21,000 feet). |
CHO OYU If you have high altitude climbing
experience on mountains like Mount McKinley or Aconcagua and are
ready to take it to the next level, consider joining us on an
expedition to Cho Oyu and challenge yourself on this 8,000 meter
Himalayan peak. Small climbing teams, high guide ratios, and
superior organization and logistics make a difference when climbing
the world’s highest mountains. |
