August brings great summer weather and good climbing conditions on Mt. Rainier and the nearby North Cascades. The climbing on Russia's Mt. Elbrus is primed for an expedition of the mountain's Northside, and the dry season in Tanzania means great climbing on Mt. Kilimanjaro.
