Anne Gilbert Chase

Anne Gilbert grew up on the Chesapeake Bay of Virginia, where she learned to navigate the waters by sailing at an early age. While racing sailboats and surfing on the coast, she developed a strong connection to the outdoor world. It was not until she went to the University of Georgia that she found her true passion for the mountains. She learned to climb on the steep sandstone cliffs of the southeast and after graduating with a B.A. in History and Spanish, she moved to Oregon in search of bigger mountains and deeper snow. Since living in the Northwest, she has honed her mountaineering skills in the Cascade Range and found a love for backcountry skiing. Whether climbing and skiing around the west coast or riding a tandem bicycle across the country, Anne Gilbert is always ready for the next adventure.
