Miles Clark

Miles Clark grew up in Northern California and became enchanted by the Sierra Nevada mountains at a young age. He developed his skiing and mountaineering techniques while exploring Lake Tahoe, Yosemite and King Canyon National Park. At 18, he moved to Central Oregon to attend college, ski and climb. In 2001, he received a degree in Molecular Cell Biology from UC Berkeley, took the MCAT and was headed for medical school. Yet, the mountains never ceased to call to him. He decided to follow his outlandish dreams of becoming a professional skier and mountain guide. He has spent the past 8 winters skiing full time at Squaw Valley in Lake Tahoe, CA. For the past 7 seasons, he’s been a professional freeskier, participating in ski mountaineering expeditions, freeskiing competitions, ski videos and photo shoots.

Miles is currently a member of the Squaw Valley Freeride Team. In 2006, he took his first guiding job in Alaska’s Wrangell St. Elias National Park. In 2007, he began guiding for Rainier Mountaineering Inc. (RMI) on Mt. Rainier (14,411 ft) in Washington state. His work with RMI led to successful guiding on El Pico de Orizaba (18,702 ft) and on Mt. McKinley (20,320) in 2008.

His passion for skiing, climbing and traveling has taken him to the mountains of Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Alaska, British Columbia, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Chile. In addition to the mountains, Miles seeks out warm water breaks in tropical areas including Baja California, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Colombia, Brazil, and Indonesia.
