North Cascades Climbs

The North Cascades of Washington, affectionately known as the American Alps, offer a wide range of climbs for the novice and expert alike. The North Cascades contain long alpine rock climbs, complex glaciated peaks, cascading waterfalls, and breathtaking alpine basins with numerous classic routes waiting right outside your tent door. The North Cascades truly has it all.

RMI offers beginning, intermediate, and custom climbs in the North Cascades. These climbs are a tremendous way to gain skills and confidence in alpine terrain while getting to the top of some classic North Cascade peaks. Many climbers use these climbs to train for technically challenging ascents like Mt. Rainier's Liberty Ridge or the West Rib of Mt. McKinley.

Mt. Shuksan - Sulphide Glacier This is an entry level climb that we recommend for climbers new to the sport of alpine mountaineering, or those who simply want to summit a classic Northwest icon.	$940	4
Forbidden Peak - West Ridge Renown for its exciting and classic terrain, the West Ridge of Forbidden is a tremendously rewarding climb that has earned its place as one of the "Fifty Classic Climbs in North America".	$1160	4
Mt. Shuksan - Fisher's Chimneys Our adventurous and enjoyable Fisher Chimneys route on the mountain’s Northwest side provides an abundance of moderate rock and glacier climbing, with longer and more advanced climbing required than for the standard Sulphide Glacier on the mountain’s southern flank. Familiarity with basic climbing techniques are required for participation on this climb.	$870	4
