Four Day Summit Climb

Mt. Rainier: September 14th Summit!

RMI Guide Paul Edgren led the Four Day Summit Climb to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning.  Paul reported great route conditions and warm, sunny weather.  The team is making their way to Camp Muir where they will rest and refuel before returning to Ashford this afternoon.

Congratulations climbers!

Thanks RMI guides for getting the team safely to the summit!  Congratulations Jason and the whole team!  We are so PROUD of you Jay for Hiking for the Hungry.

Four Day Summit Climb

Mt. Rainier: September 4, 2013

RMI Guides Billy Nugent and Paul Edgren led their Four Day Summit Climb teams to the top of Disappointment Cleaver this morning before encountering strong winds, low visibility, and precipitation.  The teams have safely returned to Camp Muir and are getting ready to descend back to Paradise.  We are excited to welcome the teams back in Ashford early this afternoon.

We are so proud of you, Doug. All your hard work and training has paid off. Can’t wait to hear all about your adventure! Mom and Dad Hicks

Four Day Summit Climb

Mt. Rainier: August 31, 2013 Update

The Four Day Summit Climb Led by RMI Guides Dave Hahn and Paul Edgren reached 11,800’ feet today before encountering firm and icy conditions on the route which forced them to turn around.  Dave Hahn reported clear skies and beautiful weather.  The team is currently descending from Ingraham Flats and will be back at RMI Basecamp in the early afternoon.

Great job Nathaniel and Matthew - darn weather, atleast the weather let you go further this time than you did last time!  Glad you could enjoy the adventure together!  I love you both!!!

Four Day Summit Climb

Mt. Rainier: August 27th Update

The Four Day Summit Climbs August 24 - 27 led by RMI Guides Mike Walter & Paul Edgren were unable to reach the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning due to poor weather on the mountain.  The teams reported wind, snow and rain at Camp Muir over night.  This morning the teams will begin their descent to Paradise.

We look forward to seeing them at Rainier Base Camp this afternoon.

I’m sorry the weather did not cooperate with your summit attempt.

Four Day Summit Climb

Mt. Rainier: August 20th Teams on the Summit!

The Four Day Summit Climb August 17 - 20 reached the summit of Mt. Rainier just after 7 am PT this morning.  RMI Guides Brent Okita and Paul Edgren led the teams.  Brent reported a gorgeous day with clear skies and light winds averaging 15 mph.  The teams will spend some time on the summit before beginning their descent to Camp Muir.  After a short rest, the teams will continue to Paradise later this afternoon.

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons led by RMI Guide Eric Frank reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning shortly before 8 am PT.  The team will spend time enjoying the views and then return to their high camp for their final night on the mountain.

Four Day Summit Climb

Mt.Rainier: August 15th High Winds Keep Group from Summit

The Four Day Summit Climbs August 12 - 15, 2013 led by RMI Guides Eric Frank and Paul Edgren were unable to reach the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning.  Strong winds and precipitation prevented the teams from climbing.  The teams checked in from Camp Muir shortly after 7 am where they were safe and warm in the Muir hut.  The teams will descend from Camp Muir to Paradise this morning.

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Kautz led by RMI Guide Elias de Andres Martos was unable to summit this morning also.  They will spend today training on the mountain.  Tomorrow they will descend to Paradise and complete their program.

We look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp.

Four Day Summit Climb

Mt. Rainier: August 11th Summit!

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Mike Walter and the Five Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Paul Edgren reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning.  Mike and Paul reported moderate winds and cloudy conditions.  The teams were departing the summit around 7:30 a.m. and are returning to Camp Muir to refuel before continuing downhill to Paradise.  We’ll see them back in Ashford this afternoon.

Congrats Jim! This story won’t even need the usual Jim spin on reality to be super impressive! Can’t wait to hear all about it! Super proud of you!

Four Day Summit Climb

Mt. Rainier: July 30th, 2013 Summit!

Our Four Day Summit Climb Teams led by RMI Guide Solveig Waterfall and Paul Edgren reached the summit of Mt. Rainier early this morning. The cloud covering made for a beautiful sunrise today. The teams have started their descent and are en route back to Camp Muir.

RMI Guide Zeb Blais and the Expedition Skills Seminar – Emmons team also reached the summit of Mt. Rainier via the Emmons Route.  The team will descend the route back to Camp Schurman, spend another day training and will return to Rainier Basecamp tomorrow.

Four Day Summit Climb

Mt. Rainier: July 21, 2013 Summit!

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Mike Uchal and Five Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Paul Edgren reached the summit of Mt. Rainier after a 6 1/2 hour ascent.  Mike Uchal reports sunny, beautiful weather and a busy route. The teams are en route back to Camp Muir, and will be back at RMI Basecamp later today.

That mountain looks soooo big from my easy chair on the patio where I lounge thinking about all of you, up on top.  I can only imagine the sense of accomplishment.  You guys are amazing!  Welcome back, and can’t wait to hear stories.

Four Day Summit Climb

Mt. Rainier: July 11th - Summit!

RMI Guides Brent Okita & Paul Edgren led their Four Day Summit Climb teams to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning.  Brent radioed from the summit shortly after 7 am as the teams were crossing the crater.  They reported cold temperatures with moderate winds and clear skies.  The teams began their descent from the crater rim around 7:40 am.  They will return to Camp Muir for a short break and then continue down to Paradise later this afternoon.
