Celeste has been rock climbing and summiting peaks in the mountains of Colorado since she was a child. From a young age it was clear that the mountains were the place to be. She spent many summers bringing friends and siblings along to summit 14ers in Colorado, and developed a passion for rock climbing during college. She started tapping into back country splitboarding in the Spring of 2024 and has spent many summers adventuring and guiding around the peaks in Washington.
When Celeste isn’t running up hills, she is often attending to one of her other passions: trail running up new peaks, playing various instruments, or rollerblading down canyons around town.
My favorite part of guiding is getting to meet so many adventurous people and to help make these wild mountain experiences more accessible. I find that these kinds of adventures are incredibly memorable and it's a privilege to get share it.
During the off season I enjoy snowboarding as much as I can. I seek out adventures both in and out of bounds, but have placed more emphasis on split boarding in the back country during recent winters. When I'm not playing in the snow, I am often rehearsing or performing with one of my bands.
I want climbers to have come away from the experience feeling like they challenged themselves and were able to do so in a safe, supportive, and positive environment. Mountaineering is a team sport, and I strive to facilitate welcoming and encouraging team dynamics. I want climbers to come away from the trip, whether their high point was the top or somewhere along the way, feeling like they were a part of a team that was 100% backing them, and that they were able to push themselves to do something vigorous in the safest manner possible.

RMI Expeditions Guides are required to hold a number of certifications, but many go above and beyond with their technical and outdoor training. We actively encourage (and provide funding for) our guides' continuing education.

Mountaineering
The Four Day Rainier Climb is the classic route to the summit of Mount Rainier and the most common path climbers take into high-altitude mountaineering, following the standard south-side routes through glaciated terrain to one of North America's most recognizable peaks. It's a serious alpine objective that rewards preparation, fitness, and focus — for many climbers, the moment mountaineering becomes real, yet still within reach of well-prepared first-timers. Being able to say "I've been on top of that" while driving I-5 or flying out of Sea-Tac is an incredible achievement.
The climb begins with a half day orientation at BaseCamp, followed by a full day of mountaineering school on the mountain, then ascends to Camp Muir, where teams stay in the private hut RMI uses — the only guide service with its own shelter at Camp Muir. Throughout, you climb in small rope teams at a 2:1 climber-to-guide ratio — closer instruction, steadier pacing, and more attention on summit day. Before and after, your team is based at Rainier BaseCamp in Ashford, home to the BaseCamp Bar & Grill, Whittaker Mountaineering, and Whittaker's Bunkhouse.
