About Tyler
Tyler is a senior guide at RMI where he started guiding nine years ago. Having grown up in Sun Valley, Idaho, Tyler started skiing and climbing as a kid. This grew into an obsession with climbing that has taken him all over the world. He has guided and climbed on numerous difficult peaks, building a healthy resume of ascents on rock, ice, and alpine terrain. Tyler is an American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) ski mountaineering, alpine, and rock certified guide. In October he completed his last exam in the AMGA earning him IFMGA / UIAGM certification, which is the highest level of certification available to mountain guides in the world. Tyler has been on a dozen expeditions to Denali, including solo ascents, climbing the Cassin Ridge linking it with a traverse down the Muldrow Glacier, along with many ski descents and climbs on other flanks of Denali. He's climbed the Nose of El Capitan in a day, skied first descents on The Republic of Georgia (17,060'), Mt. Shakara, and completed many long classic ice routes in the Canadian Rockies and Alaska. Tyler guides year round enjoys sharing his broad range of skills, stories, and humor with his clients. His professional demeanor an open approach to learning and teaching make for great experiences in the mountains anywhere in the world.
