Patrick grew up in the foothills of Boulder, Colorado, which is where he gained his passion for the mountains. He started climbing and developing mountaineering skills in the high peaks of Colorado in his early years during high school, and has been infatuated since. He peruses ski mountaineering in the winters, and alpine climbing in the summers. He is currently pursuing a Pre Medical degree in biology at Western State College of Colorado, and ski instructing at Crested Butte throughout the winter.
