Ben Stimson
Ben grew up in both Britain and Australia and learned to rock climb at a young age from his parents. At 18 he moved back to Scotland where he spent his winters pursuing Scottish mixed climbing and mountaineering and his summers alpine climbing in Chamonix. He has spent the past 4 seasons working for the British Antarctic Survey as a guide, where he continues to work during the winter, supporting climate scientists on glacial terrain and deep field projects. He has guided fellow BAS employees on multi-week skiing and climbing expeditions, climbing mixed and ice routes, during the Antarctic winter.
Ben moved to Portland, Oregon last April and has spent the past year climbing and skiing in the Cascades and getting acquainted with his new home. He enjoys being outside in the mountains and having an adventure and is looking forward to being able to share that with the people he will be climbing with this summer.
