Brendan Oates

Raised just outside New York City, Brendan was often shipped off to Vermont to "enjoy nature". Later, he attended college in Vermont, majoring in Environmental Studies while instructing students in climbing and skiing. Before guiding Brendan worked as a Park Ranger for ten years with the National Park Service across the country, including places like the Grand Canyon, Everglades, and North Cascades National Park, wearing many different hats (including the Smokey Bear one) with roles in search and rescue, trail building, and outdoor education. Brendan spends his free time in North Cascades National Park and Mount Baker Snoqualmie National Forest, and enjoys multisport adventures combining skiing, trail running, and packrafting.
