Erika Barrett

Erika grew up in Oregon and Texas with an outdoors-loving family. In high school she started joining her dad and brothers on summer backpacking trips in the Rockies and was immediately hooked. As soon as Erika graduated from college she moved to Mt. Rainier where she worked as a park ranger for three seasons. Having spent ten years running competitively Erika was stoked to leave the pavement behind and find trail running. During her first summer at Mt. Rainier, Erika discovered a passion for mountaineering and she’s been walking uphill ever since.
Erika spends her winters in Alaska sewing, skiing, ice climbing, and trying new things. She probably has four projects she’s working on right now and a couple fermentation jars in the cabinet. Her ideal day off includes pulling weeds, jumping in a lake mid-trail run, and scheming up how to make that piece of gear she should probably just buy.
