Matt Tucker

Matt was born and raised in a small town in Alabama, where he spent most of his childhood outside hunting, fishing, and exploring. By the time Matt got to Auburn University, his love for the outdoors had only grown, and he was always planning trips out west to ski, hike, and camp with his friends. At some point, Matt realized the mountains weren’t just a place he loved, they were where he felt most at home. That realization led him to take an Intro to Mountaineering course on Mt. Baker in 2018, and from there, Matt never looked back. H started his career in the outdoors as a wilderness therapy guide in Vermont, then led 47-day canoeing and backpacking expeditions in Alaska before working as a professional backpacking guide in Yosemite. Along the way, Matt's passion for the mountains only deepened, leading him to climb all over the U.S., as well as New Zealand, Canada, and Ecuador. Now, as a mountain guide, Matt excited to help others experience the challenge, beauty, and reward of being in the mountains. When he's not guiding or in the mountains, you’ll probably find him scuba diving or with his head buried in a good book.
