About

Growing up in the foothills of Alaska’s Chugach range, Alan found his love for the outdoors at a young age. What began as exploring and learning to appreciate the rugged beauty of Alaska’s backcountry with his grandfather eventually led him to a passion for climbing and skiing big mountains all over the world. He has logged 10+ years of experience throughout the high peaks of North America, South America, and the Himalaya. Prior to pursuing a career as a professional mountain guide, Alan attained a bachelor’s degree in biology with a concentration in medicine. In addition to human-powered pursuits, he works in Alaska as a Heli-Ski guide and in mountain Search and Rescue as a NPS Denali Climbing Ranger. When not working he finds himself at home on the North Oregon Coast enjoying time in flip flops, eating fish tacos, salty air, and good swells.
