Hobbies

I play piano, drums, and guitar with a particular emphasis on jazz charts. I also spend many hours woodworking and metalworking doing furniture and fabrication for friends and family.

About

Eddie grew up in Aurora, Colorado where he spent many hours of his childhood skiing, playing drums, or tinkering in his parents’ garage. Since then, he has thru-hiked over 4500 miles, quested up alpine faces, and skied the steepest lines he could find. He graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines where he managed the Outdoor Recreation program and helped fellow students with their woodshop projects. Today he enjoys playing drums, piano, woodworking, and always a proper outing into the mountains. He plans to pursue his master’s in teaching one day, and his ultimate dream job is to be the “cool” physics teacher for a school tucked away in some mountainous region.

Best part of my Job

Teaching! I love to find out how people work and how I can connect with them to climb high in good style.

Off Season Activities

I spend my winters in Bozeman, Montana where I climb a healthy dose of ice and ski as much as is possible.

Why RMI?

I hope my climbers will return from climbing with RMI with a deep reverence for the power and scale of the mountains. I also strive to create a hunger for more learning, adventuring, and eventually more summits!

Certifications

Our Standard

RMI Expeditions Guides are required to hold a number of certifications, but many go above and beyond with their technical and outdoor training. We actively encourage (and provide funding for) our guides' continuing education.
