About

As the third generation of Whittaker to pass through RMI's leadership team, I figured I had better learn some skills other than guiding to contribute to the company - my dad and grandfather have climbed enough to fulfill the next few generations down the line. After graduating from the University of Washington with a BA in International Environmental Policy and a minor in Entrepreneurship, I cut my teeth by opening my own marketing agency for outdoor brands, which I ran until I came on board the family business in 2024.

I am ostensibly in charge of marketing, but like any small business, I end up contributing to all parts of the business. In my free time, I'm a (very) amateur fly fisherman, a slightly better backpacker, and a pretty good splitboarder. I live with my partner and our ragdoll cat in Idaho in the winters, and at the base of Mount Rainier in the summers.

Best part of my Job

The best part of my job is getting to work with dozens of motivated, outdoorsy people. Our guides (and the staff who make these trips possible) are an incredible community - getting to be a part of the third generation of that community is an amazing opportunity.

Off Season Activities

Since I'm not a guide, I don't really get an off season... but in the winter I love splitboarding, hot springing, and traveling with my partner.

Why RMI?

I hope the folks that climb with us walk away knowing that they are capable of overcoming hard things. Whether you summit or not, giving your all to a physical endeavor is something that fewer and fewer people experience these days, and I think there's real, life long value in having some Type 2 fun a few times in your life.
