Mac grew up in Minnesota where she grew up spending summers in the north woods of Wisconsin. After moving to Montana for college, she discovered how much she loved being in the mountains. She learned to ski while working as a lift operator and was hired on ski patrol after graduating undergrad. Currently she is working towards her Master’s degree and can be found exploring the mountains around Lake Tahoe skiing, climbing, or mountain biking.
The sunrises on the mountains, spending time outside, and the opportunity to share those moments with many amazing people
I like go visit my family and plan trips where I get to explore new places to ski, bike, and climb.
The mountains have given me so many memories and have helped me grow. I hope my clients find something similar and get to appreciate their experiences in the mountains and the memories they bring us.

RMI Expeditions Guides are required to hold a number of certifications, but many go above and beyond with their technical and outdoor training. We actively encourage (and provide funding for) our guides' continuing education.

Mountaineering
Rising above Ecuador's Avenue of the Volcanoes, Cotopaxi is one of the most recognizable peaks in the Andes and one of the world's highest active volcanoes at 19,348 feet. Its near-perfect conical shape, massive glaciers, and accessible technical terrain have made it one of the premier high-altitude climbing objectives in South America for generations of mountaineers. The Cotopaxi Express delivers the full experience of this iconic peak in nine days, from arrival in Quito to summit and home.
The program is built around a smart acclimatization sequence. Two days of cultural exploration and hiking in Quito are followed by an acclimatization climb on Illiniza Norte, a nearby peak that takes the team above 15,000 feet before they ever set foot on Cotopaxi's glacier. A skills review on the glacier near the Jose Ribas Refugio the day before summit day ensures climbers are confident and prepared for the crevasse fields and steep final slopes above.
What makes this program work for intermediate climbers is the combination of efficiency and depth. The nine-day format is compact, but nothing is rushed. The cultural experience of Quito is genuine, the acclimatization is properly sequenced, and the guiding on the mountain reflects decades of RMI experience on Ecuadorian peaks alongside a local guide team that knows Cotopaxi as well as anyone.
