Hiking, Skiing, Music: Going to Concerts/Shows, Crocheting, and Backpacking.
Originally from Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, Maddie is RMI’s HR Generalist. Maddie’s first summit was Pole Steeple in Michaux State Forest—a self-described “super niche” pick, but every climber has to start somewhere. The best part of the job is working with RMI’s guides and staff, a crew full of unique backgrounds and unconventional paths, and supporting mountain operations from behind the scenes.
Outside of work, Maddie loves hiking, backpacking, and catching live music. The off-season is ski season, whether at the resort or in the backcountry, and rainy days are reserved for crocheting, embroidery, sewing, and other fiber arts.
I love getting to work with such a wide variety of guides and staff, all with unique backgrounds, interests, and stories. It’s fun being able to support mountain operations behind the scenes while working with people who have taken some pretty unconventional paths. Everyone here has a story, and you’ll never hear about a boring workday or weekend!
During the off-season, you can usually find me skiing—whether at a resort or out in the backcountry. When the weather is rainy, I’m happy to stay inside and work on fiber arts like crocheting, embroidery, or sewing.
I hope clients have a truly transformative experience. Being in the mountains is powerful on its own, but being with a group of skilled guides can take that experience to another level. I hope they leave with new skills and knowledge, but also a sense of camaraderie, teamwork, and confidence that they can carry with them beyond the mountains.
