About

Tom was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, and grew up hiking, climbing, and skiing throughout the Cascade Range. He began his career as an aerospace engineer before changing paths to guiding on the advice of close friends and mentors. He now guides in rock, ice, and alpine terrain and coaches a youth bouldering team in Seattle. When he’s not guiding, he enjoys alpine climbing, technical ski descents (in moderation), and long days exploring off-the-beaten-path peaks.

Outside the mountains, Tom enjoys reading, photography, volunteering, and playing chess.
