Michael Murray

Michael was born in Minnesota where he got involved in ski racing at a young age and spent his summers exploring the waterways the state has to offer; establishing a love for nature and adventure that he carries with him to this day. After high school, he headed to the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he majored in economics. After a brief stint in finance, Michael quickly realized that office life wasn’t for him and committed himself to a life of exploration. Upon leaving the finance industry, Michael lived abroad for just under two years, spending time in Southeast Asia, the Himalayas of Nepal and India, Europe, and North Africa, teaching English and guiding various outdoor activities. He currently spends his time between Montana, Alaska, and Washington, where he continues his passions of climbing, backcountry skiing, whitewater rafting, and exploring the inside passage of SE Alaska in a kayak. Outside of his outdoor pursuits, you can find Michael with a good book, jamming to the Grateful Dead, traveling, eating cheese, and spending time with his family.
