Tyler Jones

Tyler is a senior guide at RMI where he's been guiding in the mountains for more than a decade. He grew up in the ski town of Sun Valley, Idaho where he starting skiing and climbing as a youngster. This grew an obsession with climbing and skiing that has taken him adventuring around the world. Tyler is a UIAGM/IFMGA licensed mountain guide through the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) in the disciplines of ski mountaineering, alpine, and rock. Tyler has extensive experience in the Alaska Range spending 400+ days on the glaciers, including completing the first Cassin Ridge to the Muldrow Glacier traverse as well as multiple ski descents and guided climbs in the range. In winter Tyler can be found in his dreamland, La Grave, France, ski guiding steep off-piste steeps through the Southern Alps and Italy. The summers take him to Denali, Teton, and Mount Rainier National Parks. He says, "The Mountains are life and alpine experiences are the ultimate for personal learning and progression." Some favorite missions of his are climbing the Nose of El Capitan in a day, Skiing first descents in the Republic of Georgia, and all the opportunities to spend so many fun days in the mountains with all his guests and friends. Tyler's professional demeanor and focus on safety and his passion for the mountains will for sure leave fond memories.
