Mt. Rainier: June 15, 2013 Summit!

RMI Guides Pete Van Deventer and Geoff Schellens and the Four Day Summit Climb team reached the summit of Mt. Rainier at 7:28am this morning.  The team reported clear beautiful skies, steady winds of 10 mph, and cool temperatures. The group spent some time on the summit enjoying the views and are now en route back to Camp Muir.

Mt. Rainier: June 12, 2013 - Summit!

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Billy Nugent reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning.  Billy reported clear and beautiful skies, but cold temperatures with winds of about 10 - 15 mph form the northwest. The team has started their descent and are en route back to Camp Muir.

Mt. Rainier: July 2nd Summit

The Four Day Summit Climb June 29 - 2 July led by RMI Guides Brent Okita, Gabriel Barral and Erik Nelson reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning shortly after 7 am (PT).  The team reported cold temperatures, winds and a high overcast sky.

The climbers spent 30 minutes on top before beginning their descent toward Camp Muir.  The team will re-pack and re-fuel before at Camp Muir before continuing their descent to Paradise and on to Rainier Base Camp.

SUMMIT!

Our Four Day Summit Climb Teams led by Paul Maier and Mike Haugen made it to the summit of Mt. Rainier today.  The teams were able to spend a moment on top before heading downhill and are now en route to Camp Muir.

Mt. Rainier: Expedition Skills Seminar - Kautz

Seth here, checking in from inside my tent.  We’re currently dug in at 9,200 feet at a spot we call “The Castle.”  We’ve had a rough spell of weather on this trip with mostly white out conditions but the group is still having a good time.  Yesterday we had good weather for a bit while we climbed up to our camp but over night a big storm came in and now we are just waiting it out in the safety of camp.

Tomorrow we will make our way back to civilization.
