MT Rainier: Four Day Climb Stayed at Muir Due to Heavy Wind & Snow

The four-day climb stayed at Camp Muir today and were unable to climb due to heavy snow and wind. Gusts were nearly 60 miles per hour overnight.

Mt Rainier: RMI Guide Delaney Leads Team to Summit

RMI Guide Jack Delaney led his group of climbers to the summit of Mt Rainier this morning around 7:45am. They reported beautiful weather other than some wind. They are currently on their descent back to Camp Muir and will be back in Ashford this afternoon. 

Great work up there!

Mt Rainier: Summit Success for Four-Day Climb

The four-day climb led my RMI Guide Ben Ammon summitted Mt Rainier this morning around 6am PST. They reported a warm night of climbing and light winds. They are currently on their descent back to Camp Muir and will be back in Ashford this afternoon.

Mt Rainier: Four Day Climb Turns at Ingraham Flats Due to Avalanche Conditions

The four-day climb turned around at Ingraham Flats on their summit attempt this morning due to avalanche conditions. They enjoyed a beautiful sunrise! They will be descending back to Paradise later this morning.

Mt. Rainier: Four-Day Climb Turns at 12,450’ due to Snow Instability

RMI teams led by guides Will Ambler and Joe Crawford made their summit attempt this morning. As a result of recent snow accumulation and strong winds on the upper mountain, they found evidence of snow instability and decided to turn around at 12,450'. The teams had made their way back to Camp Muir and are doing additional training for the remainder of the morning.

Mt. Rainier: Five Day Climb Reaches the Summit

RMI Teams led by Dave Hahn and Joe Crawford reached the summit of Mt. Rainier! They started their descent back to Camp Muir around 9:30am. RMI Guide Dave Hahn reported great weather and good route conditions.

Mt. Baker: Easton Glacier Wedel & Team Reach the Summit

Early this morning, RMI Guide Jess Wedel led her team to the summit of Mt. Baker via the Easton Glacier route. After taking in the stunning views from the top, the team descended safely back to Sandy Camp. They'll spend one more night there before making their final descent to the trailhead tomorrow morning, wrapping up a successful and rewarding climb.

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Climb Enjoys Time on the Summit

The Four Day Climbs enjoyed clear skies and a light breeze on the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. Led by RMI Guides Jess Wedel and Mike Bennett, the teams were able to enjoy the views from the summit before beginning their descent around 7:30 am. The teams will be back in Ashford this afternoon to celebrate.

Mike B. - I know you were taking some pictures/video on your cell phone as we neared the top and the sunrise was happening.  Can you share them with us here like we see posted on some of the other summits?

Mt. Rainier: Five Day Climb Teams Reach the Summit led by Delaney and Hedreen

The Five Day Climb July 24 - 28 led by RMI Guides Jack Delaney and George Hedreen reached the summit of Mt. Rainier today.  Jack reported a very cold and windy climb.  The clear skies and sunshine were appreciated by the group and they enjoyed some time inside the summit crater before starting their descent. The teams will return to Camp Muir for their second night on the mountain and enjoy a well deserved rest and full night's sleep after their alpine start this morning.  The team will conclude their program tomorrow, descending the remaining 4,500' to Paradise and ending with a short celebration at Rainier BaseCamp.

Mt. Rainier: Okita, Sinapius and Team Summit!

At 5:45 AM, under bluebird skies and in calm, clear, and beautiful conditions, the Four Day Climb team led by Brent Okita and Nick Sinapius reached the summit!  

They’re already on the descent, making the most of this perfect alpine morning.

Huge congrats to the team for a strong and successful push!
