Mt. Rainier: Four Day Climb Teams Climb to Ingraham Flats

The Four Day Climb June 17 - 20 led by RMI Guides Leif Bergstrom, Mitch Valaitis and Arianna Drechsler enjoyed nice weather over the course of their climb but unstable snow conditions on the upper mountain prevented the team from ascending above Ingraham Flats.  The team enjoyed some additional training and spent the morning at Ingraham Flats.  They plan to descend from Camp Muir at 10 am en route to Paradise.

Mt. Rainier: June 15th Team Update

The Four Day Climb with RMI Guides Joe Hoch and Ben Ammon spent the night at Camp Muir in a blizzard. The weather broke a bit before dawn, so the team was able to walk to Cathedral Gap before heading back to Muir. They plan on departing Camp Muir at 9 am.

Congratulations Team!

Mt. Rainier: High Winds Prevent Five Day Teams from Ascending

The Five Day Climb led by RMI Guides Andy Bond and Ben Luedtke reached 11,200' today and watched the sunrise from Ingraham Flats.  High winds with higher gusts kept the teams from ascending any higher.  The climbers returned safely to Camp Muir and began their descent to Paradise around 9 am.  They will conclude their program this afternoon.

Rainier donned their packs and climbed to the lower Emmons Glacier.  The team spent two days in rainy and snow weather before descending to the trailhead and returning to Ashford.  On Wednesday the team spent another day training to complete their program.

Here's hoping for better weather next time!
