Mt. McKinley: Mike Walter & Team Waiting on Weather

This is Mike checking in from high camp on Denali.  The weather is playing games with us today, but the forecast remains excellent.  We had contemplated a summit bid upon awakening, but a lenticular cloud cap kept alternately forming then dissipating throughout the morning, and we decided to hold off.  It has been quite windy in camp, but high pressure is forecast to dominate the next several days.  Our well rested team hopes to go for it tomorrow.  All is well and we will be back in touch with an update tomorrow.

Wish us luck!

David, We tried to keep the less than optimal weather in Prince Rupert, but the rainy drizzle seems to have follow ed us back to PDX. Tom & Nancy left early this morning for their big cro ss ing out to the Queen Charolettes weather pemitting.
Good luck for this last leg. Safe journey. Teri & Paul

Hi David, Wait for the perfect day. Everything is fine at home and it’s not summer yet. Be safe on the way down, too.

Yo! Sending you best wishes from Kenya. Suz hung with Kobi the other day, he’s good. Ran a half marathon this morning with 1,000 runners, mostly Kenyan. I hope that you guys are having as much fun as us! You are bad-asses. Have a blast getting to the top!
