Mt. Rainier: Four Day Team Reaches the Top!

At 5:15 am the Four Day Climb led by RMI Guide Calvin Jiricko were standing on the summit of Mt. Rainer 14,410'! Calvin reported a beautiful day and a great climb. The team is on their descent in route to Camp Muir.

Mt. Rainier: All Women’s team on the Summit

The All Women's Four Day Climb led by RMI Guide Jess Wedel Reached the Summit at 5:15 am this Morning. The team reported beautiful views and great weather. They are on the descent and will be back at Camp Muir Shortly.

Mt. Rainier: Expedition Skills Seminar Emmons Summit

Great news from the mountain!

The Expedition Skills Seminar Emmons Team, led by Sam Hoffman, successfully reached the summit of Mt. Rainier early this morning. The team enjoyed favorable climbing conditions with clear skies, some gusty winds, and an excellent day on the mountain.

The climbers are currently descending and have reached approximately 13,800 feet as they make their way back to Camp Schurman. They will spend one more night on the mountain continuing their training before beginning their final descent.

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Team Turns at 11,500’

The Four-Day Climbs led by RMI Guides Dave Hahn and Joe Crawford turned around at 11,500 feet this morning due to route conditions. The teams safely returned to Camp Muir and plan to begin their descent to Paradise at 9:00 a.m.

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Climb Turned back by winds

The Four Day Climb July 24 - 27 led by RMI Guide Dominic Cifelli turned around 13,000' due to high winds and a cloud cap above them. The team is enroute to Camp Muir and after a short break will continue down to Paradise later today.

Mt. Rainier: Four-Day Teams Summit Amidst Winds and Clear Skies

The four-day climbing teams, led by Nikki Champion and Mike Bennett, reached the crater rim just before 7:20 a.m. this morning. After a brief touch-and-go at the summit, the team reported clear skies and a windy ascent.

The teams are now descending to Camp Muir, where they will reset, pack their gear, and continue down to the trailhead. They are expected to return to Ashford later this afternoon, concluding a successful four-day climb.

Way to go, climbers!

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Climb Turns due to High Winds

The Four Day Climb led by RMI Guides Mike King and George Hedreen turned around shortly after departing Camp Muir early this morning due to high winds. According to RMI Guide Mike King, wind gusts reached up to 70 mph.

The team has begun its descent and is expected to return to Rainier Basecamp in Ashford, Washington, early this afternoon.

Glacier Peak: Wedel and Team Summit!

RMI Guides Jess Wedel, Dylan Anderson, and Stella Johnson led their team to an early morning summit of Glacier Peak today. After descending back to high camp, the team took some time to rest before packing up and continuing down to their lower camp, where they will spend the night. Tomorrow morning, they'll complete the final leg of their journey with the descent to the trailhead.

Mt. Rainier: Five Day Kautz Climb Turns above the Ice Chute

The Five Day Kautz Climb, led by RMI Guide Henry Coppolillo, climbed to the top of the Kautz Ice Chute this morning and continued to approximately 13,000 feet before determining that overnight rain had significantly deteriorated the route conditions. With safety as the top priority, the team made the decision to turn around and begin their descent.

The climbers will return to camp, spend one final night on the mountain, and complete their descent to the Paradise trailhead tomorrow, concluding their five-day adventure.
