Mt. Rainier: Five Day Climb Teams Reach the Summit on Beautiful Morning

The Five Day Climb July 5 - 9 led by RMI Guides Casey Grom & Jackson Breen reached the summit of Mt. Rainier today.  The teams enjoyed clear skies, nice walking and a bit of wind.  They began their descent from the crater rim just after 7 am.  Forecasts for tonight show higher winds, so the team chose today for their summit attempt and it seems to have worked out nicely. They will return to Camp Muir for their second night and enjoy a full nights rest before descending the final 4,500' to Paradise tomorrow.

Congratulations to today's climbers!

Mt. Rainier: Grom, Crawford and Team Summit!

This morning at 7:30 AM, the Four Day Climb team led by Casey Grom and Joe Crawford successfully descended from the crater rim of Mount Rainier after a successful summit push. The team was greeted with clear skies, light winds, and ideal climbing conditions.

From the summit, climbers enjoyed expansive views above a lingering marine layer that hovered around 7,600 feet. The contrast between the crystal-clear skies above and the thick cloud cover below created a surreal and breathtaking scene—one of those rare moments that make all the effort worthwhile.

Congratulations to all the climbers on a successful ascent!

Super cool. (Didn’t even realize the northern lights were even visible over here at this point in time.)
