Aconcagua: King & Team Remain at Camp 2, Waiting Out the Weater

Our team will take another weather day at Camp 2. Strong winds and lots of snow will keep us from moving up hill today. Tomorrow is our last chance to move to High Camp. We will hope to have a summit bid on the 14th. The team is hunkered down in their tents as 40 mph wind gusts roar through camp.

Thinking of you and wishing for good weather for you all. Love Vonne.

Thinking of the group and wishing you luck! 40mph winds, yikes! We got about 14in of snow yesterday, then some rain. Hopefully it keeps coming so we can start snowmobiling!

Thinking of your group and hoping that conditions improve to be able to move up and to summit.
Prayers and positive vibes being sent!

Wow, I cannot even begin to imagine waiting out 40 mph wind in a tent! We had gusts of 40-50 mph wind before Christmas and lost power at our house, never mind in a tent!

It would be terribly disappointing not to summit. Safety first, though.

We are sending you prayers for safety and a summit! XOXOXO Momma & Dad

You guys all rock.  I miss you quite a lot and think of you constantly.  I’m limping around Mendoza blaming those heavy plastic boots for adhesions in my feet.  Breathing, it turns out, may have been the least of my challenges!  Enough about me though.

Have you heard about the Yeti on Aconcagua disguised as a park ranger who is turning people back at the traverse due to deep snow and avalanche hazard?  Maybe Michael can out- compete him based on foot size!

Please play some Jeff Beck (RIP) while you’re blasting 1970s tunes.

Salud, dinero, amor y muchísima suerte para el cumbre, cuates!

Stay safe. I know that it will be a big disappointment if you cannot summit but it is still one heck of an adventure. We will think positive thoughts and hope that tomorrow will work to move up. With love.
