The Four-Day teams reached the summit this morning at 5 am! RMI Guides Brent Okita and Christina Dale reported great route conditions and no winds on the summit. They are currently finishing their descent to Camp Muir for a quick break before packing up camp and starting their descent to Paradise in the summer sunshine.

Congrats team!

Congratulations to everyone!  Special thank you to Lead Guide Christina, and to Trevor for all his help with me on the descent.  So very proud my son Christian Rainier Culbert summited a 2nd year in a row with RMI.  On an even more beautiful day this time when they got to see the sunrise from the summit.  I’ll always remember (rue?) the unique challenge of Disappointment Cleaver. Pre-dawn on the Ingraham Flats with Gibraltar Rock looming behind us in that early light, a canopy of stars just beginning to fade above us…a moment I will treasure.  Appreciated everything so much; RMI you are a credit to your stewardship of our beloved Mt. Rainier.

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Climb Reaches Summit

The Four Day Climb July 20 - 23 reached the 14,410' summit of Mt. Rainier led by RMI Guides Christina Dale and Nikki Champion.  Blue skies but chilly temps and winds around 20 mph accompanied them on their climb.  After enjoying the views from the summit of Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens and the Cascade range, the teams began their descent from the crater rim around 6:45 am.  Once they reach Camp Muir they will repack and continue their descent to Paradise (5,400').

Nice work climbers and congratulations!

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Climb Turned at Disappointment Cleaver

The Four Day Climb led by RMI Guides Christina Dale and Dominic Cifelli turned at the top of Disappointment Cleaver early this morning.  The team had clear skies above, but due to recent winter-like storms, route conditions on the upper mountian are unstable. The team is in route to Camp Muir and will be descending back to Paradise in the early afternoon.

Congratulations to today’s team!

Everest BC Trek & Lobuche Climb: Dale and Team Finish Trek, Return to Lukla

A huge congratulations to this team for completing the Everest Base Camp Trek and Lobuche climb today. This has been an amazing and challenging expedition. We have seen the cutest red cheeked children, the world's highest mountains, and some good looking chocolate cake slices. We are fortunate to have embarked on this adventure and learned more about the world, one another, and ourselves. As we pulled into Lukla this evening, after many miles and long days, I realized how grateful I am for the positive energy of this team and the Nepali people who supported us along the way. We passed Zopkeos and porters with huge loads on their backs all working to make the trekker's and climber's experiences more enjoyable with coca cola, clean towels, and so much more. Sometimes people come to Nepal for the mountains, but the generosity and hospitality of the Nepali people is what everyone remembers. RMI Guide Christina Dale

Everest BC Trek & Lobuche Climb: Dale & Team Enjoy Descent to Namche Bazaar

We are all getting tattoos of our favorite part of Nepal. A large hairy yak, a momo, and the summit of Lobuche. Forever, permanently inked on us. April fools. The truth is we had a huge day today and walked all the way from Lobuche to Namche. 44,800 steps said one phone. A long day. But now we are all fed and happy here in Namche Bazaar. Tomorrow we will leave the mountain country and head down to the Dudh Kosi River crossing 11 suspension bridges on our way back to Lukla. RMI Guide Christina Dale
