The Four Day Summit Climb July 24 - 27, 2014 led by RMI Guide Mike Haugen reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning around 7:30 am with 100% of their team. The team reported great weather and good climbing. Today's team consists of climbers raising funds for Big City Mountaineers and their Summit For Someone program.
The team will complete their descent today, returning to Paradise later this afternoon.

We are checking in from high on Mt. Kilimanjaro. Here in the alpine desert there is a stark reminder that only the heartiest survive at this altitude. That is just what we are doing and in great style, mind you a hearty group we are. After a great climb of the famous Baranco wall early this morning led to the traverse below the southern side of the summit massive. We had intermittent clouds that made for nice climbing to the Karanga Camp. The Diamond, Balletto, Heim, Decken, and Kersten glaciers loom just above reminding us that we still have a ways to go. Another very nice day on Mt. Kilimanjaro. We set out at 8 am after yet another delicious breakfast we are definitely not losing any weight on this trip. We left the moorland zone of vegetation and moved into the alpine zone meaning not much living up there. A couple of white necked ravens would visit us at our breaks thinking they may get a hand out but doing our best at the leave no trace policy they would have to rummage else where for a snack. Right at high noon we hit the high mark of just under 15,000' which was a new altitude record for most of the team. We then descend down to 13,000' where the Baranco camp is and home for the night. The whole team is feeling good and climbing with great style.

The Four Day Summit Climb teams led by RMI Guides Brent Okita and Lindsay Mann reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The teams reported clear skies and good climbing. They were able to enjoy some time on the summit before starting their descent around 7:30 am.
The teams will return to Camp Muir for a short break before continuing down to Paradise. We look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp later this afternoon.

Our team made the summit of Mt. Elbrus! It was an interesting weather day. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good. The wind and the cold challenged everyone including myself.
Our team did a fantastic job motivating each other and looking after one another. I was really proud to climb with all of them and they all deserve a huge congratulations!
We are now safely down back in the ski town of Cheget. A well deserved rest after a good Russian meal is in store!

Hello! Good afternoon!
This is Elías and the Alpamayo climbing team. We are calling from Cashapampa, or the trailhead, where we have just arrived. IT is 3 PM local time on Friday, the 25th, and we have successfully finished our expedition. We'd like to apologize for their lack of a call last night from Base Camp following the call we made in the morning after the climb, but the sat. phone wasn't working properly or the cloud cover maybe even lower, but we arrived at Base Camp shortly, 4 hours after we departed High Camp. We had a nice dinner, re-encountering our cook and camp staff, and this morning the donkeys made our journey back to the trailhead very enjoyable. And, like I said, we're now at the trailhead loading our backs into the taxi, the truck that is going to take us back into town. And we'll be over. So thanks to everybody who's been following our progress on the mountain, and we send our regards to everyone, and we will be checking in the next time with some pictures and a final recap from Huaraz within the next 24 hours!

We took advantage of nice weather today and climbed to the top of the Fisher Chimneys. We will turn around here, climb back down thru the Chimneys and hike back to the trail head today...still many hours ahead of us.

We are back at our camp (lower bivy site below Fisher Chimneys) after successfully climbing up and down the Chimneys this morning. We're packing up camp right now and will be headed down hill shortly. We should be at the trail head in a few hours.

The gnarled trunks of giant heather disappeared as we entered the area of the mountain called the Moorlands. We enjoyed nice weather conditions during our 5 hour climb to the Shira Camp at 12,500 ft. Situated on a plateau we are enjoying a great 360 view as we snack on peanuts and popcorn. Once again the team did fine and pulled into camp in great shape.
Our local staff continues to assist us in a seamless manor and we appreciate it very much.

It is a soggy day on Mount Elbrus. The weather has turned and not for the better. It's raining pretty constant at the moment. What was to be a training day has turned into a hunker down day.
Don't get me wrong, I could make it sound like its epic and the team is hanging onto the walls of our huts. However, it's still not too bad. But with the potential of a small break in the weather for tomorrow, there is no need to get sopping wet.
The team is reading, watching tv and dreaming of their dance moves on the summit of Elbrus...hopefully tomorrow! So keep your fingers crossed for us...
