Namaste from Kathmandu! Everyone arrived safely and timely to Kathmandu late last night. We had an easy day today just resting after the long hours of international flying, enjoying our welcome meal in the Thamel area, and wandering a bit in the busy streets of that area of town before the jet lag started to set in. We called it a day on the early side to allow the body to start adjusting with ease to the time change and in preparation for a busier day tomorrow. The upcoming day will be a a formal visit of the main historical monuments of Nepal's capital and packing for our flight into the mountains the following day. The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guides Elias de Andres Martos and Christina Dale reached 11,700' before having to turn due to unconsolidated snow conditions. The team is currently at Camp Muir and will be descending for Paradise soon. Congratulations to today's team!

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Muir Team led by RMI Guides Elias deAndres Martos and Christina Dale reached the summit of Mt. Rainier today! Elias reported great climbing with clear skies, and cool fall temperatures. The team has spent their week on the mountain learning alpine mountaineering skills. They will finish out their week of training before descending tomorrow afternoon. Congratulations to today's Team!

The September 4 - 7 Summit Climb teams reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning around 6:30 am PT. RMI Guides Elias de Andres Martos and Christina Dale led their teams. After enjoying some time in the crater the teams started their descent. They will return to Camp Muir and then continue to Paradise this afternoon. Congratulations to today's Summit Climb teams!

Great adventure with both guides.  Both were very professional and focused on everyone’s safety first.  My first climb and would come climb with RMI again in a heart beat.  Steve was our rope team’s guide - very knowledgeable and answered all of our many questions.  Cousin Joe made it to the top with the help of Steve and others.  Thanks again for the memorable adventure!

North Cascades: Elias & Team Summit on Shuksan and Baker!

Great five days in the North Cascades with two studs; Taylor and Jake came from Minnesota ready to tackle two significant objectives. Shuksan and Mt. Baker. Weather cooperated, and we did the first one from Lake Ann to Lake Ann in a stylish way. The next day, hiked out in the morning to find ourselves hiking into Baker that afternoon. Bed right away, and back at it in the early morning. The North Ridge of Baker is in usual late season conditions, and rotten ice plus intricate navigation, demanded focus and perseverance. Accomplished but tired, we hiked out yesterday as the sun still shined over the Cascades. RMI Guide Elias de Andres Martos

RMI Guide Elias de Andres Martos and team hit the crater rim at 11:15 a.m. via the Kautz Glacier Route. They had 100% success to the summit! Elias reported good conditions, a tired team, and an extremely crevassed Nisqually Glacier.

The Four Day Summit Climb August 1 - 4, 2017 reached the summit this morning around 6 am. The team reported clear skies with lots of shooting stars and a view of the Northern Lights. After enjoying some time on Columbia Crest, the team began their descent. They will make a stop at Camp Muir to repack and refuel and then continue down to Paradise. Congratulations to today's Summit Climb team!

Alpamayo: Elias & Team Back in the Thicker Air of Base Camp

Greetings from Alpamayo BC! We initiated our descent this morning from high camp and retraced our steps back out of the kingdom of the ice and into the warm confines of base camp. We are excited to savor lower altitude air and the amazing food of our cook. Our plan is to head out tomorrow and get into town in the evening. We are all super proud of our climb, yet looking forward to telling our accounts in person to our loved ones, so stay tuned for our arrival tomorrow into town!
