Mt. Rainier: Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons Team Summits

RMI Guide Steve Gately led the Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons team to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The team topped out at 8:15 a.m. and enjoyed breezy conditions on the summit. The Emmons Seminar descended to Camp Schurman where they will spend their last night on the mountain. We look forward to seeing them in Ashford tomorrow afternoon. Congratulations climbers!

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Summit Climbs Team Reach Summit

The Four Day Summit Climb August 14 - 17, 2017 led by RMI Guides Casey Grom & JM Gorum reached the summit of Mt. Rainier around 6:30 am today. The teams enjoyed a bit of time on the crater before starting their descent. They will return to Camp Muir for a short stop before continuing down to Paradise. We look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp later today. Congratulations to today's Summit Climb team!

I was a part of the group from NY and I only made it to the Disappointment Cleaver (DC). However I had a great time and learn a lot. JM & Casey were both great leaders and lots of fan to be with. Thank you both .

Mt. Rainier: Summit Climb Teams Back on Top!

Thanks to the many hours of route work from dedicated guides on Mt. Rainier over the last few days our Five Day Summit Climb team for August 12 - 16 reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning around 6 am. RMI Guide Mike King and team spent some time on the top before starting their descent. They will return to Camp Muir and then return to Paradise later today. Congratulations to today's Summit Climb Team!

Mt. Rainier: Kautz Seminar Summits!

RMI Guide Elias de Andres Martos and team hit the crater rim at 11:15 a.m. via the Kautz Glacier Route. They had 100% success to the summit! Elias reported good conditions, a tired team, and an extremely crevassed Nisqually Glacier.

The Four Day Summit Climb August 12 - 15 led by RMI Guide Geoff Schellens turned around today at 13,300' due to difficult terrain. The team reported a nice day with calm winds. The team will return to Camp Muir and continue their descent to Paradise later today.

Mt. Rainier: August 14th Update

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Brent Okita reached the top of Disappointment Cleaver today. Due to route conditions the team was unable to travel any further up the mountain. The team will spend some time at Camp Muir before descending back to Paradise. Congratulations to today's team!

Mt. Rainier: Poor Weather Keeps Four Day Summit Climb Teams from Summit

The Four Day Summit Climb August 10 - 13 was unable to reach the summit of Mt. Rainier today. Poor weather delayed the team from leaving Camp Muir this morning. Unable to make their alpine start, the team did opt to ascend to Ingraham Flats which will be their high point today. RMI Guide Robby Young reported that the weather had improved and they were above the clouds as the reached 12,000'. The team will return to Camp Muir and descend to Paradise today.

The Four Day Summit Climb teams August 9-12, were unable to reach the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning due to route conditions. The teams will return to Camp Muir and repack before continuing down to Paradise later today.

Congratulations Erika and company!  WOW!  This is an amazing accomplishment.  I know it is not the top but the journey to get where you have gotten is something to be proud of. It is always good to work with mother nature and appreciate her messages. I am glad you all listen to that, to climb another day.

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Climb Reaches the Summit

RMI Guides Casey Grom and JM Gorum led their teams to the Mt. Rainier summit this morning. It was clear on top with some smoky air, due to the British Columbia wildfires, on the lower flanks of the mountain. The team is making great progress on their descent back to Camp Muir.
