After waiting for the weather to clear for a few hours, we completed our climbing school. With spirits high and a clearing trend in the forecast, we decided to go for a sunset climb. We were rewarded with stunning views of the north cascades and evening light over the Pacific Ocean. All climbers reached the summit climbing in great style. We arrived back at camp just before midnight and got in bed.
This morning we sipped coffee and enjoyed the views before breaking down camp and heading downhill.

RMI Guide Lael Butler and a custom client team reached the summit of Mt. Baker via the North Ridge Route—a legendary alpine climb featuring steep ice, exposed ridgelines, and unforgettable views.
Despite some clouds and light winds, the team crushed a two-day push to the top, navigating multiple pitches of alpine ice and snow with skill and determination.
Huge congrats to the climber and guide for an epic ascent of one of the Northwest’s most iconic routes!

After leaving the summit and spending the night back at high camp, the team will head down the mountain this morning to celebrate their success with friends, family, and a nice warm meal.

Mt. Baker Ski & Summit May 17 - 19:
Led by RMI Guide Sam Marjerison the team practice skills and did some ski touring yesterday. They arrived back to camp and settled in after turning around at 7,400 feet due to whiteout conditions. They are planning to enjoy a morning ski before making their exit around midday.

Mt. Baker Summit & Ski Team Update:
The team spent last two days exploring the upper slopes of Mt. Baker, enjoying some great turns along the way. Unfortunately, weather conditions prevented them from climbing above 7,400 feet on their summit attempt today.
They’re now back at camp and will ski out tomorrow.

Hello! The team just got back to camp after a sunset climb on the Easton Glacier. It was a hazy but beautiful climb. We'll get some well earned rest and walk back to the trailhead in the morning.

Good evening,
Checking in from high camp - we summited today around 11:30am! We had sun, clouds, a bit of rain, and even a rainbow on our climb. Now we eat and sleep hiding from the rain. Hoping for clear skies and sun tomorrow! Special shout out to James for his first summit of Mt. Shuksan.
RMI Guide Sam Hoffman
