Mt. Rainier: June 26th Summit!

The Mount Rainier Four-Day Summit Climb, led by Seth Waterfall and Mike Soucy, reached the summit this morning.  Seth reported a nice day and 10-15 mph winds from the North.  As of 7:38 a.m. the teams began their descent from the crater rim.

Mt. Rainier: June 20th Update

7:45 a.m. - The Four Day Summit Climb, led by Leon Davis and Mike Soucy, crested the summit rim of Mt. Rainier. Leon reported a nice day with light winds. Both teams began their descent just after 9:00 a.m.

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guides Casey Grom and Mike Soucy reached the Summit of Mt. Rainier this morning.  The Team reported strong winds, clouds and deteriorating weather.  They have started their descent and are en route back to Camp Muir.

The Four Day Summit Climb of Mt. Rainier led by RMI Guides JJ Justman and Mike Soucy stood on top of Columbia Crest this morning.  JJ reported that the teams were in and out of a cloud cap all morning but enjoyed light winds and pleasant conditions on the summit.  The teams will descend to Camp Muir where they will pack up and refuel before making their way to Paradise.  We look forward to seeing them in Ashford this afternoon.

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Kautz led by RMI Guide Zeb Blais also reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning.  They enjoyed a light breeze while on the summit.  The team will descend back to high camp for the night and will return to Ashford tomorrow.

Mt. Rainier: June 20th SUMMIT!

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guides Brent Okita and Mike Soucy was 30 minutes from the crater rim at 7:40 am as reported by Camp Muir.  Camp Muir reported calm winds, and clear skies. The team will spend a bit of time on the summit before starting their descent.

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons spent a misty afternoon practicing crevasse rescue and ice climbing skills on the Emmons Glacier near Camp Schurman The spent the evening in camp, having dinner, relaxing, and celebrating an exciting, strenuous and very windy climb to 13,200’ yesterday. The team is descending from their camp this morning and will return to Ashford this afternoon around 3:30 pm.
