The
Four Day Climb July 7 - 10 was unable to climb today due to weather.
RMI Guide Robby Young reported rain and high winds prevented the group from leaving Camp Muir to make their summit attempt. Winds continued to blow this morning at Camp Muir. The team plans to descent this morning to Paradise.
RMI Guide Nick Scott and the
Five Day Climb July 9 - 12 reached the summit of Mt. Rainier with their entire team this morning. Based on the forecast the team opted to climb this morning rather than the last day of their program. They will spend tonight at Camp Muir and enjoy more time on the mountain before descending to Paradise tomorrow.

Four Day Climb July 6 - 9 led by
RMI Guide Brent Okita reached the summit of Mt. Rainier with their entire team this morning. Brent reported a beautiful day on the mountain and a great route.

RMI Guide Andy Bond and the
Expedition Skills Seminar - Kautz July 5 - 10 reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. Andy reported great weather and route conditions and the team enjoyed an hour on the summit. They will return to High Camp for additional training and their final night on the mountain.

With perfect weather conditions, the Four Day Climb led by RMI Guide
Steve Gately reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. Steve reported warm temperatures and zero wind on the summit. After taking some celebratory photos and enjoying the views, the
Four Day Climb began their descent from the summit shortly after 9:00 AM. The team will return to Rainier BaseCamp in Ashford this afternoon.

Jess Matthews and the
Five Day Climb reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning with perfect weather conditions. The team reported warm temperatures and zero wind. After spending some time celebrating on the summit the team began their descent to Camp Muir shortly after 9:00 AM. The team will be back in Ashford this afternoon.

RMI Guides Pete Van Deventer and Alex Halliday led their
Four Day Climb teams to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. They reported a beautiful day and a great climb as they were reaching the crater rim just before 7 AM PT.

The
Expedition Skills Seminar - Paradise Glacier team, led by
RMI Guide Ben Ammon, spent the week on Mt. Rainier. The crowning point was this morning. They reached the summit of Mt. Rainier! The week entailed various mountaineering skills, such as crevasse rescue techniques, anchor placements, ice climbing, belays, rappelling and much more.
We look forward to congratulating them on a successful week this afternoon!
RMI Guide Brent Okita and the
Mt. Rainier Summit Climb left Columbia Crest at 7:45 am. Brent said the weather was a little chilly with 15 mph winds, sunny skies and some clouds around.

RMI Guides Steve Gately and Mike King reached the summit of Mt. Rainier at 7:30 AM PT. RMI Guide Joe Hoch reported
warm weather and dying winds on the summit. Joe said, "It's finally starting to feel like July!"
The teams will spend some time on the summit before beginning their descent. They will return to Rainier BaseCamp in Ashford this afternoon.

Beth - Given the rain and wind this morning, today was not the day for a climb .... maybe another day. Camp Muir’s shelter beats a tent to hunker down and watch the storm. The mountain will still be there waiting for you when you come back. See you next week.

So sorry you couldn’t make the climb. The weather forecaster said only experts would have a chance. Was looking forward to hearing about it. Mom
