Mt. Rainier: RMI Guides Lead Their Teams to the Summit!

The Mt. Rainier Summit Climb teams, led by RMI Guides Brent Okita and Zeb Blais, reached the top this morning. Winds were in the 10-15 mph range and beautiful, sunny skies. After spending some time on the summit, the teams began their descent at 7:00 a.m.

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Summit Climb Teams Reach the Summit

Our Four Day Summit Climb teams led by RMI Guides Tyler Jones & Paul Rachele reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The teams enjoyed clear skies and beautiful views from the top today. As of 7:30 am the teams were back to the top of Disappointment Cleaver on their descent. They will return to Camp Muir and then continue down to Paradise. Congratulations to today's Summit Climb teams!

Mt. Rainier: Teams Turn at 12,000’ Due to Poor Weather Conditions

The Mt. Rainier Summit Climbs, led by Mike Walter and Walter Hailes, turned around at 12,000 feet due to high winds, low visibility, and snow. The teams began their descent from Camp Muir at 8:45 a.m. We look forward to greeting them in Ashford this afternoon.

Mt. Rainier: Emmons Seminar Unable to Summit

The Mt. Rainier Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons led by RMI Guide JJ Justman was unable to make a summit attempt this morning. The team remained at Camp Schurman due to wet weather (rain and snow mix) and low visibility. When JJ called to check-in with the RMI Office this morning the weather had improved a little and the team was going to spend the day training around Camp Schurman. The team will spend tonight on the mountain before descending and returning to Ashford tomorrow.

Mt. Rainier: Low Visibility Turns Teams at 12,500’

The American Lung Association's Climb for Clean Air led by RMI Guide Win Whittaker and the Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Mike Uchal were unable to reach the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The teams decided to call 12,500 ft. their high point today due to high winds and low visibility. The teams descended back to Camp Muir for some extra rest. Later this morning the teams will pack up and make their descent back to Paradise. We look forward to seeing them back in Ashford later today.

Mt. Rainier: Five Day Summit Climb Reaches Summit

RMI Guide Mike King and the Five Day Summit Climb completed their two nights on Mt. Rainier with a successful summit this morning. The team spent a little time on the summit before beginning their descent around 7:15 a.m. PDT. We look forward to seeing the team in Ashford later today and hearing about their time on the mountain. Mt. Rainier: Four Day Summit Climb 100% to Summit

RMI Guide Casey Grom and the entire Four Day Summit Climb team reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. On the summit, the team experienced a Mt. Rainier cloud cap with snow, low visibility and 25 m.p.h. winds. The team began their descent around 7:15 a.m. PDT. We look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp this afternoon. Way to climb!

Mt. Rainier: Emmons Seminar Begins Their Climb

After two days of training the Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons June 19 - 24, 2016 began their climb. They drove this morning to their trail head near the White River Camp Ground. RMI Guide JJ Justman checked in this afternoon to let us know the team was setting up camp on a beautiful day. Everyone is great and they are going to spend the evening learning how to build snow anchors. Tomorrow they will break camp and ascend to Camp Schurman, their High Camp.

Mt. Rainier: Expeditions Skills Seminar Kautz Reaches Summit

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Kautz June 17 -22, 2016 led by RMI Guide Elias de Andres Martos reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The team had a very full day and were safely back to their high camp around 4:30 pm PT. Tomorrow is the last day of their program so they will break camp and return to Paradise. We look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp tomorrow and hope they enjoyed their time on Mt. Rainier. Congratulations Kautz Seminar Team!
