Four Day Summit Climbs led by
RMI Guides Mike Walter and Mike King reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning and were leaving the crater rim at 7:09 am. Mike King reported light winds and overall a beautiful day. The teams will be back in Ashford later today.

The
Four Day Summit Climbs led by RMI Guides
Steve Gately and
Geoff Schellens reached the summit of Mt. Rainier at about 6:45 this morning. Steve reported winds of about 30mph at the crest, but overall a beautiful day. The team has started their descent and are en route to Camp Muir.

Leon Davis called at 7:30 AM this morning from the
Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons. He and the team are back at camp. They reached 11,600’, then turned due to a large crack. Later today they will take a walk to spend more time training about 500’ above Camp Schurman.
RMI Guide Brent Okita and the Four Day Summit Climb reached Columbia Crest, the highest point on
Mt. Rainier and in Washington State this morning.
Brent reported gorgeous weather and an improved route. The team will spend some time on the summit before beginning their descent to Camp Muir. At Camp Muir the team will rest and repack before continuing their descent. We look forward to seeing them in Ashford this afternoon.

Pete Van Deventer and
Zeb Blais guided their Four Day Summit Climb teams to Camp Comfort (12,800 ft) on Mt. Rainier before route conditions forced the teams to turn. The teams are descending to Camp Muir to rest and repack before continuing their descent to Paradise. We look forward to welcoming the teams back in Ashford later today.

Jake Beren and
Lindsay Mann reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. Jake reported cloudy, smoky skies, light to moderate winds, and mild temperatures. The teams left the summit just before 8 am to start their descent to Camp Muir. We look forward to seeing them in Ashford this afternoon.

Eric Frank and the
Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons were unable to reach the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning due to route conditions. The team climbed to 10,800' before being forced to turn around. Despite being unable to summit, Eric and the team enjoyed and incredible meteor shower in the early hours of the morning.
The team is back at Camp Schurman and plans to spend the rest of the day doing crevasse rescue and ice climbing training around camp. Tomorrow the team will descend from Camp Schurman. We look forward to greeting them in Ashford tomorrow afternoon.

Mt. Rainier this morning. Mike reported great weather with no clouds and light winds. The teams began their descent at 7:45 am. We look forward to seeing everyone back in Ashford this afternoon.

The
Mount Rainier Four and Five Day Summit Climbs, led by
Kel Rossiter and
Ben Liken, reached about 12,300 feet before thunder and lightning forced the team to turn. The team is safely back at Camp Muir and began their descent to Paradise at 9:00 a.m. The skies are currently hazy with a fair amount of smoke in the skies from various wildfires in eastern part of Washington.
Geoff Schellens and the Expedition Skills Seminar - Kautz turned from their summit attempt yesterday at 13,300 feet. They will finish their day of training and be back at RMI Basecamp later this afternoon. The RMI Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons, led by
Eric Frank, checked in from camp this morning. Their team is doing well, training today, and preparing for their summit bid in the morning.

Brent Okita and the
Four Day Summit Climb team were walking onto Columbia Crest, the highest point in Washington State, at 7:05 am this morning. The team climbed into a light cloud cap, but otherwise had calm weather. They are now en route back to Camp Muir.

Zeb Blais reached the summit of Mt. Rainier at about 6:50 am this morning. The team climbed into a cap with some high winds and a bit of rime. They have started their descent and are en route back to Camp Muir.
