The
Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons team just called from the summit! All is well with them and they are beginning their descent. The lead guide,
Christina Dale, said the team has enjoyed their week on Mt. Rainier with many skills learned and to top it off, a summit on the highest peak in Washington! They will be descending off the mountain tomorrow and working their way back to Rainier Basecamp to cap off their week with a celebration here in Ashford.
The Summit Climb teams, led by
RMI Guides Robby Young and JT Schmitt, reached the top of
Mt. Rainier and are on their descent. As the teams began their ascent from Camp Muir, there was warm weather for climbing but as they neared the summit the temperatures became cooler with 30 mph winds on the summit.

RMI Guide JM Gorum and the
Five Day Summit Climb team August 4 - 8 reached the summit of Mt.Rainier with blue skies and clear views. The team enjoyed some time in the crater before starting their descent at 8:00AM. They will return to Camp Muir, repack and continue their descent to Paradise. We look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp later today.

The
Four Day Summit Climb August 5 - 8 led by
RMI Guide Eric Frank reached the summit around 7:15 AM this morning. Eric reported warm conditions with a light wind above 13,000' as the group ascended from Camp Muir to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. They enjoyed the views from the crater and began their descent from the crater rim around 8 AM. The team will return to Camp Muir and continue down to Paradise later this afternoon.

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Kautz led by RMI Guide Andy Bond worked their way through the Kautz Ice Chute early this morning to reach the summit of Mt. Rainier. The team was 100% to the summit! Andy reported warm weather climbing conditions and a tricky route. The team will camp and train one more night on the mountain before descending to Paradise.

The August 3 - 6
Four Day Summit Climb reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning around 6 AM PT. After enjoying blue skies and beautiful views they began their descent from the crater rim. They will return to Camp Muir and repack before descending to Paradise this afternoon. They will then return to BaseCamp to celebrate.

RMI Guide Zeb Blais and the
Five Day Summit Climb August 2 - 6 team reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. Zeb reported a little cold and a little windy on their climb this morning but overall very nice weather. The team ascended to Camp Muir on August 4th after spending a day and a 1/2 training on the lower slopes of Mt. Rainier. They spent two nights at Camp Muir resting and preparing for their summit climb. We are glad they had a beautiful day today for their summit climb.

The
Four Day Summit Climb August 2 - 5 reached the summit of Mt. Rainier today with 100% of their team!
RMI Guides Robby Young, Nikki Champion and Bryce Foster lead their team to the summit of Mt. Rainier around 6:30 AM PT. The team enjoyed a beautiful morning on the mountain with clear skies and good temps. They began their descent from the crater rim around 7:30 AM.

The
Four Day Summit Climb Teams checked in at 7:40 AM as they were leaving the summit crater of Mt. Rainier. The group enjoyed blue skies and a really nice morning on the mountain.
Once they return to Camp Muir they will repack and continue their descent to Paradise. They will end their program with a celebration at Rainier BaseCamp this afternoon.

RMI Guide Hannah McGowan met her
Expedition Skills Seminar - Paradise team on July 29th for a day of Technical Training and gear checks. The next day they drove to Paradise and began their climb. The team moved slowly up the mountain setting up camp, learning new skills and practicing new techniques. Yesterday they moved into Camp Muir and prepared for their summit attempt. With an early alpine start this morning, the team left Camp Muir enroute to the summit. With blue skies and light winds they reached the summit of Mt. Rainier and after enjoying the views, began their descent to Camp Muir around 7 AM PT. Once back at camp they will pack up and continue their descent to Paradise. We look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp this afternoon to conclude their week of training and climbing.
