Mt. Rainier: Kautz Seminar Reaches the Summit!

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Kautz, led by Mike Haugen, spent the week training as they built up to their summit push. With an alpine start from their high camp on the Kautz Glacier, the team began their quest. They accomplished their summit goal just after 7:00 a.m. this morning and then began their descent via the Disappointment Cleaver Route. Mike reported moderate winds and snow. The team will make their way back to Ashford later today.

Mt. Rainier: July 22nd Update

The Mt. Rainier Summit Climb teams, led by Seth Waterfall and Ben Liken, reached the summit at 6:45 a.m. With some wind and snow falling, the teams began their descent shortly after tagging the top. As of 7:50 a.m. they had descended to 12,500' and are moving well back to Camp Muir. Congratulations to today's summit climbers!

I threw out my back hours after snow school and had to withdraw from the expedition. So happy for the teams summit!

Mt. Rainier: July 21st Summit!

The Four Day Summit Climb Led by RMI Guides Brent Okita and Zeb Blais reached the summit of Mt. Rainier Early this morning. The team climbed into a cap with 30 mph winds. They spent a brief time on the top before starting their descent. Congratulations to today's team!

Mt. Rainier: Emmons Seminar Completes Week of Training

RMI Guide Nick Hunt and the Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons team completed their week of training today. Yesterday, the team made a summit attempt via the Emmons Glacier route on Mt. Rainier. The team was forced to call 12,800' their high point due to poor route conditions. Despite not reaching the summit, the team had a great climb complete with steep alpine climbing. All in all, the team enjoyed a great week of training and climbing on the Emmons Glacier.

Mt. Rainier: July 20th Five Day Summit Climb - Summit!

The Five Day Summit Climb Team Led by RMI Guide Sid Pattison reached the Summit of Mt. Rainier today. The team has enjoyed two days on the mountain and this morning climb into clear skies, winds of 20 - 25 mph and cool temperatures. The team has started their descent and are en route to Camp Muir. Congratulations to today's team!

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Pete Van Deventer reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. Pete reported cold, clear skies with winds at about 25 mph, and a very nice day to climb. The team has started their descent and is en route back to Camp Muir. Congratulations to today's team!

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Summit Climb Team on Top!

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Mike Walter reached the summit of Mt. Rainier shortly after 7:00 a.m. this morning. Mike reported sunny skies, a cloud deck at 9,000', and 15 mph winds. The team will spend some time on the summit celebrating before beginning their descent. We will see them back in Ashford this afternoon. Congratulations climbers!

The Five Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Steve Gately reached the summit of Mt. Rainier early this morning. Because of weather the team did a "touch and go" summit. They have started their descent and are en route back to Camp Muir. Congratulations to today's team!

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Leon Davis reached the Crater Rim of Mt. Rainier early this morning. The weather did not allow for the team to spend very much time on top. They have started their descent are now en route to Camp Muir. Congratulations to today's team!

The Mt. Rainier Summit Climb team, led by Kel Rossiter, reached the summit at 6:00 a.m. The team was above the clouds, with the cloud deck hovering around 11,000ft. After spending an hour on top, they began their descent. Congratulations to today's climbers!
