The Five Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guides Brent Okita and JJ Justman reached the summit of Mt. Rainier early this morning. Brent reported a beautiful day with clear skies and great climbing. The team will spend some time on the summit enjoying the views before starting their descent. Congratulations to today's team, what a great way to finish the 2015 Mt. Rainier climbing season!

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Brent Okita and the Five Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Ben Liken were unable to reach the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning due to challenging route conditions. The teams called Camp Comfort at 12,700' their high point. The teams will return to Ashford this afternoon.

The Expedition Skills Seminar – Muir led by RMI Guides Brent Okita and Mike King reached the summit of Mt. Rainier at 7:22 am this morning. The teams reported clear skies and light winds. The team will spend one more day on the mountain training before descending. We expect them back to Rainier Basecamp tomorrow afternoon. Congratulations to the Seminar Team!

Mt. Rainier: Summit Climb Turns Due to New Snow and Avalanche Concerns

The Mount Rainier Summit Climb turned at 11,400’ due to new snow and avalanche concerns. RMI Guide Brent Okita reported that the weather was beautiful but chilly at Camp Muir. The teams are safely off the mountain and will be back to Rainier Basecamp early afternoon.

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Summit Climbs Turned At Disappointment Cleaver

RMI Guides Brent Okita and Zeb Blais lead their Four Day Summit Climb teams to approximately 11,400 on the Disappointment Cleaver route before turning around due to avalanche danger higher on the route. The teams returned to Camp Muir and will begin their descent to Paradise this morning. We look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp later today.

The Four Day Summit Climbs led by RMI Guides Brent Okita & Leon Davis reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning at 6:35AM. They reported windy conditions upon approaching the crater rim and a chilly morning but overall good climbing conditions. After enjoying the views from the summit the teams will begin their descent to Camp Muir and then continue to Paradise. We look forward to seeing them in Ashford later today. Congratulations to today's Summit Climb Teams!

RMI Guides Brent Okita & Geoff Schellens led their Four Day Summit Climb teams to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The teams were able to spend about an hour enjoying the views on the summit. They began their descent from the crater rim just before 8 am. They will return to Camp Muir to rest and repack before continuing down to Paradise. Congratulations to today's teams!

Brent reported gorgeous weather and an improved route. The team will spend some time on the summit before beginning their descent to Camp Muir. At Camp Muir the team will rest and repack before continuing their descent. We look forward to seeing them in Ashford this afternoon. Congratulations climbers!

RMI Guide Brent Okita and the Four Day Summit Climb team were walking onto Columbia Crest, the highest point in Washington State, at 7:05 am this morning. The team climbed into a light cloud cap, but otherwise had calm weather. They are now en route back to Camp Muir. Congratulations to today's teams!

At 7:10 a.m. RMI Guide Brent Okita radioed from the top of Columbia Crest, the highest point in Washington! There were 30 – 35 mph winds this morning and nice weather. The cloud deck is below Camp Muir. The teams will spend some time on the summit before starting their descent. RMI Guide Pete Van Deventer and his Expeditions Skills Seminar - Emmons will be traveling back to Rainier Base Camp later today.
