The Four Day Summit Climb August 1 - 4, 2017 reached the summit this morning around 6 am. The team reported clear skies with lots of shooting stars and a view of the Northern Lights.
After enjoying some time on Columbia Crest, the team began their descent. They will make a stop at Camp Muir to repack and refuel and then continue down to Paradise.

RMI Guide Walter Hailes and the
Expedition Skills Seminar - Kautz July 30 - 4 August, 2017 reached the summit of Mt. Rainier today. After several days of training in Ashford and on the mountain the team left their High Camp this morning en route to the summit of Mt. Rainier. The team arrived at Columbia Crest around 5 am and enjoyed the views from the summit before starting their descent. Today is the last day of their program and they will return to the trail head and back to Rainier BaseCamp this afternoon.

RMI Guides Brent Okita & Pepper Dee led their Four Day Summit Climb teams to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The enjoyed blue skies and a great climb. They will return to Camp Muir and then continue down to Paradise.

On Sunday, the
Five Day Summit Climb team hiked out of Paradise to the training area to learn the necessary skills to summit Mt. Rainier. The following day the team hike to Camp Muir for their first night on the mountain. They spent time yesterday gaining more experience cramponing and working as a rope team then return to Camp Muir to prepare for their summit attempt. All of their training paid off and the team enjoyed the views from the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning, reaching the crater rim around 5:30 am. After celebrating their accomplishment and taking photos, they will descend to Camp Muir to rest and repack before continuing their descent to Paradise. They will end their program with a celebration at Rainier BaseCamp this afternoon.

RMI Guide Robby Young led the
Four Day Summit Climb July 30 - 2 August to the summit of Mt. Rainier early this morning. The team reached the crater rim around 5:30 am and enjoyed the blue skies and warm temperatures before beginning their descent from the crater rim. The teams will descend 9,000 vertical feet today reaching Paradise (5,400') this afternoon.

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons July 28 - 2 August, 2017 reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning around 7 am. RMI Guide Andy Bond and the team headed to the White River Camp Ground on Sunday after two days of training at Rainier BaseCamp. They started on the route on Sunday and ascended to Camp Schurman yesterday. They made an alpine start this morning and were pleased to report great weather and route conditions and that 100% of their team reached the summit today. The team will return to camp today for their final night on the mountain. Following some additional training the team will descend to the trail head and return to Rainier BaseCamp tomorrow.

The Four Day Summit Climb July 29 - 1 August led by RMI Guides Eric Frank, Hannah Smith and Dustin Wittmier reached the summit of Mt. Rainier around 5 am this morning. The team enjoyed the views from the crater before beginning their descent. They will take a short break at Camp Muir before continuing down to Paradise.

RMI Guide Jess Matthews and the Five Day Summit Climb team July 27 - 31, 2017 made an early start for the summit and reached the crater rim at 5:30 am. The team enjoyed blue skies and minimal wind on a beautiful day. The team spent an hour on top before starting their descent. The team will return to the trail head at Paradise and then continue to Rainier BaseCamp in Ashford.

RMI Guide Mike King was on top at 5:00 a.m. this morning. The warm temperatures are making for early alpine starts as the team left
Mt. Rainier's crater rim at 6:00 a.m. They are progressing well on their descent back to Camp Muir.

Expedition Skills Seminar - Paradise Glacier, led by
RMI Guide Pepper Dee, has had a spectacular week of training. With the many skills they learned, the team topped off their week with a bluebird summit day. Warm temperatures and a light breeze have followed them all week and continues as they descend from the Mt. Rainier summit.
