Mt. Rainier: Four Day Summit Climbs on Top!

RMI Guide Mike Haugen and the Four Day Summit Climb team reached the crater rim of Mt. Rainier shortly after 7 am. Mike reported good conditions with a sustained 20 mph wind. The team will enjoy some time on the summit before starting their descent. They will return to Camp Muir and then continue to Paradise. We look forward to seeing the team at Rainier BaseCamp this afternoon. Congratulations to today's Summit Climb team!

July 20th, 2015 I filmed at a distance and took photos of tremendous amount of dust from I’m assuming rock and debris coming off Willis Wall.  Lived here all my life,  have never seen dust bloom out of there like it did yesterday. I was blowing NE for miles. No news about it what so ever!  Camping above Mystic Lake would have been truly frightening yesterday.  Any news from your site?

Alpamayo: Elias & Team Move to High Camp

Hello, this is RMI Guide Elias Andres and the Alpamayo team, along with local guide, Peter. We are currently at high camp on Alpamayo at 5,400 meters. The team crushed it. We came up here in a mere four hours overcoming some steep terrain, but it was not difficult for anybody. We are currently setting up camp. Everyone will be chill tomorrow. We are going to take advantage of the elevation to continue to acclimatize for the summit bid and let a couple of teams that arrived here ahead of us climb the mountain so we have the route to ourselves. We'll keep you posted tomorrow. Stay tuned at this time and we will let you know how we are doing, which is presumably very, very well. Hopefully in 48 hours you will have a summit report. That's it for now. RMI Guide Elias de Andres Martos

Kilimanjaro: Grom & Team Celebrate at the Dik Dik Hotel

Congrats to this team! It was a fantastic climb of Kilimanjaro yesterday and everyone did great and it was wonderful to be on top with the whole team. It took us a little more than seven hours to reach the summit. The sky was full of stars and the weather was nice, although it was a little cold on that last stretch I have to admit. After spending about 20 minutes on top and getting plenty of summit photos, we made our way quickly back to camp where brunch was waiting and then descended all the way to our last camp. It was a long, but rewarding day for everyone. This morning we had a quick breakfast and got packed up one last time, then our wonderful staff gathered to bid us farewell and sang a few traditional Kilimanjaro songs. We are currently relaxing back at our lodge where everyone has enjoyed hot showers and a delicious celebration meal. It's time for a little sleep before we head out on a much deserved safari! However, now in this beautiful city the team is invigorated to enjoy our safe and successful adventure on Mount Elbrus. We had a long day of traveling to get here so we are just going to soak it in before tomorrow's adventure...what's that you may ask? Check in tomorrow and find out!! RMI Guide JJ Justman

Mt. Rainier: July 20th Update

RMI Guide Robby Young called at 7:01 am as he and his Mount Rainier Four Day Summit Climb team were starting their descent from the crater rim. Robby reported clear skies and a light, cool breeze from the NW. RMI Guide Tyler Jones and his Mount Rainier Five Day Summit Climb made a sunset climb last night and reached the summit at 8:45 pm with 100% of their team. He commented that it was the most beautiful sunset he has ever seen. Tyler's team is safely back at Camp Muir and will begin their descent later this morning.

Mt. Baker: Frank & Team Summit!

Hello, this is RMI Guide Eric Frank calling from Grant's Peak here on the top of Mount Baker. We just had a beautiful climb on the North Ridge Route. Had a few other parties up here today, but we had perfect weather, great views, and a good climb. We are going to hang out on top for another 15 or 20 minutes and then we'll be headed back down to our camp. Hope everyone following along is doing well. Talk to you soon. Bye.

Alpamayo: Elias & Team Check In from Moraine Camp

Hello from Moraine Camp! We just arrived to our cache, and are currently setting up our tents under the bluest skies so far on the trip. Spirits are high, and we presume we'll be moving to high camp tomorrow. Everyone sends their regards and asks for the cheering to continue on! Best, RMI Guide Elías de Andres Martos and crew

Kilimanjaro: Grom & Team Summit!

Hello everybody back home. This is Casey Grom calling in from the Roof of Africa. We had a beautiful day today. In fact, every climber made the summit today, so we had a 100% success. Everyone's doing great. We are a little chilly up here right now because there is a strong, cold breeze, but everyone's in good spirits. We're doing well and just finished taking a bunch of photos. We're gonna be heading down here real soon, so we'll check in again later this evening when we get down. It'll be sometime late this afternoon, probably in about ten hours or so. We'll, hopefully get a picture out to you guys as well. Bye. RMI Guide Casey Grom
