Four rope teams on the Four Day Summit Climb June 29th - July 2nd tagged the top of Mount Rainier at 6:30 a.m. By 7:40 a.m., the teams were starting the traverse at the top of Disappointment Cleaver on their descent to Camp Muir.
The teams have beautiful, bluebird weather and moderate winds. Congratulations!
Our Four Day climbs led by Brent Okita and Andres Marin stood on top of Columbia Crest at 7:20 am today. It was clear with winds at about 15 – 25 mph. It's a beautiful day in the Pacific Northwest. The teams will enjoy amazing views on their descent.

The Four Day Summit Climb June 27th - 30th reached the summit of Mt. Rainer today. The teams were greeted with clear skies above 9500' and strong winds. RMI Guides Dan Windham and Tyler Jones and teams began their descent from the crater rim at 9:20am in route to Camp Muir.

The Four Day Summit Climb June 26 - 29th led by Leon Davis reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The teams reported clear skies and 25 mph winds on the summit.
Gabriel Barral and the Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons also made the summit of Mt. Rainier today. They will return to Camp Schurman for their final night on the mountain.

The Five Day Summit Climb led by Mark Falender along with the Four Day Summit Climb led by Chad Peele were forced to turn around at the top of Disappointment Cleaver (approx. 12,300') due to high winds and poor visibility. The teams returned safely to Camp Muir and will begin their descent to Paradise around 9 a.m. PT.
The Four Day Summit Climb June 24 - 27 led by Brent Okita reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The team reported cloudy conditions with winds approximately 20 mph. They spent a short amount of time on the summit and were beginning their descent to Camp Muir shortly after 7 a.m. Once at Camp Muir the group will take a short break to re-pack their gear and then begin the remaining descent to Paradise.

The Four Day Summit Climbs led by Casey Grom and J.J. Justman reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning shortly before 7 am PT. The teams reported nice climbing conditions, light winds and beautiful views this morning. The teams spent an hour on the summit crossing the crater and taking photos before beginning their descent to Camp Muir. After a short rest at Camp Muir to re-pack they will continue down to Paradise.

RMI Guides and Climbers were ascending the route above 12,500’ today when they came upon a party in need of help. A major crevasse had collapsed at the 12,700’ level with at least one member of an independent climbing team standing on it when it fell. The RMI Guides stabilized the climber, treated the resulting leg injury, and transported the climber down to 12,300’, the top of Disappointment Cleaver for a helicopter evacuation. By the time all of this was accomplished a summit attempt was no longer feasible for the RMI Summit Team. The team has returned safely to Camp Muir and will to descend to Paradise.
On a cold and windy morning, the climbing teams persevered and made it to the summit of Mt. Rainier. The teams started their descent back to Camp Muir at 8:00 a.m. PST.

RMI's Four Day Summit Climb Teams led by Seth Waterfall and Jason Thompson reached the summit of Mt. Rainier today at 7:20 a.m. PT. It was a cold and clear day on the mountain with very high winds. The team took photos and a quick break on top before starting their descent.
The Expedition Skills Seminar - Kautz led by Nate Disser also reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning via the Kautz Glacier. The team will return to high camp for their final night on the mountain.
