Mt. Rainier: July 18th Update

The Mt. Rainier Summit Climb, led by RMI Guide Mike Haugen, was 100% successful to the summit this morning! After topping out at 8:00 a.m., the team was able to enjoy over an hour taking in the views before starting their descent at 9:30 a.m. Congratulations team!

Mt. Rainier: July 17th Summit!

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Pete Van Deventer Reached the Summit of Mt. Rainier early this morning. Pete reported a clear skies and light winds. The team has started their descent and are en route to Camp Muir. Congratulations to today's team!

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Summit Climb Teams Reach Summit

RMI Guides Mike Walter & Mike King led their Four Day Summit Climb teams to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning, reaching the crater rim around 8:30 am. The team will return to Camp Muir and continue their descent to Paradise. We look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp later this afternoon. Congratulations to today's Summit Climb teams!

Mt. Rainier: Paradise Seminar Reaches The Top

RMI Guide Chase Nelson led his Paradise Seminar team to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. They have spent the last six days training on the mountain with beautiful weather. We look forward to seeing them back at Rainier Basecamp this afternoon.

The Mt. Rainier Summit Climb, led by RMI Guide Walter Hailes, reached the summit this morning. Temperatures are warm with some gusty winds. The team began their descent back to Camp Muir and 7:10 a.m.

RMI Guides Peter Whittaker and Mike Haugen led the Four Day Summit Climb teams to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The teams reached the summit about 8 a.m. and reported blustery conditions on the summit. The teams are making their descent and will return to Ashford this afternoon. Congratulations to today's climbers!

Mt. Rainier: Kautz Seminar Team Reaches Summit

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Kautz July 9 - 14, 2017 led by RMI Guide Jake Beren reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning shortly before 7:30 am. The team has spent the last two days training on the route and will do some additional training this afternoon. After a bit more training tomorrow, they will pack up their camp and descend to Paradise to conclude their program. Congratulations to today's Kautz Climbers!

Mt. Rainier: High Winds Keeps Teams from Reaching Summit

Today's Four Day ALA Summit Climb was unable to reach the summit of Mt. Rainier due to high winds. RMI Guides Win Whittaker and Solveig Waterfall made the tough decision to turn the team around at 13,700' as winds continued to increase. The team is descending to Camp Muir where they will repack their gear and continue down to Paradise. Thank you to all the ALA Climbers for their hard work and dedication to the cause!

Mt. Rainier: Five Day Summit Climb 100% Success!

Congratulations to today's Five Day Summit Climb Team July 8-12, 2017 who reached the summit of Mt. Rainier at 7 am this morning with 100% of their team. The climbers enjoyed an hour on the summit of Mt. Rainier under blue skies and moderate winds. The will descend to Camp Muir and continue down to Paradise this afternoon to conclude their program.

I am glad our group completed the summit together. Thanks to Andy, Mike and Peter for their expertise and patience. I had a great time and will use the confidence from this successful climb to complete any other difficult task that I might face in the future.

Mt. Rainier: Emmons Seminar Summit!

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons team, led by Pete Van Deventer, is currently on the Mt. Rainier summit! After a 5-1/2 hour ascent from Camp Schurman to the top, the team is basking in the sun and enjoying their time taking in the views. They will begin their descent back to Camp Schurman shortly. We look forward to congratulating them tomorrow when the team will descend off the mountain and make their way back to Rainier Basecamp.

Happy to hear the weather permitted the team to summit safely! Thinking about and missing my husband Kyle who is climbing with his buddy Pete.
