Mt. Rainier: Kautz Seminar Summit!

The Kautz Seminar, led by Steve Gately, was on top of Mt. Rainier at 9:45 a.m. The team is working their way back to their camp where they will stay another night and descend from the mountain tomorrow. Congratulations to our Seminar team!

Mt. Rainier: Five Day Climb reaches the top!

Our Five Day Climb radioed in this morning to let us know they were standing on top of the highest point in Washington State! They reported bright and clear conditions. The team took advantage of the extra day built into our Five Day Program for an early summit in better weather. They will spend one more night at Camp Muir and will make their descent back to the land of fresh food and hot showers tomorrow. Congratulations climbers!

Mt. Rainier: Okita, Grom, & Team Stand Victorious on Columbia Crest!

The Four Day Summit Climb led by Brent Okita and Casey Grom were standing on the true summit of Mt. Rainer, Columbia Crest, at 7:00 AM PT this morning. At the time of the call they reported winds at about 30 MPH and were beginning the journey back across the crater of Mt. Rainier for the descent. We are looking forward to seeing them back on our Ashford Basecamp sometime around 3:00 - 5:00 PM PT. Congratulations climbers!

The Four Day Summit Climb teams led by RMI Guides Eric Frank and Christina Dale have reached the summit of Mt. Rainier. Eric reported chilly temperatures and light winds. The teams will enjoy some time on the summit before starting their descent. Congratulations to today's Summit Climb teams!

Mt. Rainier: Van Deventer & Reid Summit!

The Mt. Rainier Summit Climb teams, led by Pete Van Deventer and Tyler Reid, reached the summit this morning! The guides reported the weather is perfect with no wind and a cloud deck around 7,500'. Both teams began their descent around 7:45 a.m. Congratulations to today summit climb teams!

Mt. Rainier: Emmons Seminar Team Reaches Summit

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons June 16 - 21, 2018 led by RMI Guides Andy Bond, Alan Davis, Bryce Foster and Jenny Konway reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning via the Emmons Glacier route. Andy reported a beautiful day with low winds. They will return to Camp Schurman for a final night on the mountain. Congratulations to the Emmons Seminar team!

The team will spend return to Camp Muir and then continue their descent to Paradise. Congratulations to today's climbers!

Mt. Rainier: Summit Climb Teams Turned Back by Weather

The Four Day Summit Climb June 14 - 17 Teams were turned back by poor weather this morning. RMI Guide Brent Okita reported that the teams climbed to 11,000' feet before high winds, snow and poor visibility forced them to retreat to Camp Muir. The teams will descend to Paradise and then Rainier BaseCamp later this morning.

Steve reported clear skies, light winds and very cold temperatures with some thunderheads building in the east. The team will spend some time on the summit before heading back to Camp Muir.
