Mt. Rainier: July 28th Summit!

RMI Guides Win Whittaker and Seth Waterfall topped Mt. Rainier in very calm winds and beautiful skies. The teams checked in at 7:15 a.m. and had already began their descent from the crater rim. With the cloud layer just below Paradise, they have been enjoying the view since sunrise and the weather should stay in their favor as the sun continues to shine upon them. Congratulations to today's teams!

Thank you Win, Gilbert and Josh for passing on your climbing know-how and for a successful summit experience. You were there for us 110% of the time allowing me to enjoy the experience and work harder than I ever have for that last 2000’! And kudos to all on our ALA team - great team work for a good cause, and a good time!

Mt. Rainier: June 29th Update

Our Four Day Summit Climb Teams led by RMI Guides Win Whittaker and Eric Frank reached the top of Cathedral Gap today, but strong winds and heavy precipitation forced them to turn back. The teams have left Camp Muir and we expect the back at Ashford Basecamp in the early afternoon.

Mt. Rainier: June 16th Update

RMI Guides Win Whittaker and Dan Windham led the Four Day Summit Climb teams to 13,500' this morning before deciding to turn around due to deteriorating weather conditions and increased winds. The teams checked in from Ingraham Flats around 7:30 a.m. on their descent as the rain continued to fall. They returned to Camp Muir to repack and hopefully dry out a bit. At 10:00 a.m. they began their descent from Camp Muir to Paradise. We look forward to seeing the groups at Rainier BaseCamp in a few hours.
